Learning, reflection & capability-building 

CIE are experienced learning partners for programmes, partnerships and charities. We support teams to think clearly about what they are trying to achieve, how they work together, and how they can improve practice in ways that are meaningful and realistic.

We regularly work alongside community projects, complex partnerships and pilot initiatives. Practically, our team helps design projects, write funding bids, gather evidence for programmes and generate insights for teams as they work.

Embedded within busy community projects, we act as advisors, supporting the design and delivery of programmes with evidence, academic theory and the perspectives of those most affected.

The learning partner approach is particularly suited to organisations navigating complexity and testing new approaches in community development. We’ve helped projects to communicate their ideas and logic to funders, avoid tension and ambiguity between partners and make more confident decisions about how they work within communities.

We prioritise dialogue, inclusion and shared ownership of learning. Our role is not to tell organisations what to think, but to help them think well.

 

Reflection and learning add value when they are intentional and well-supported. By creating time and space to reflect, organisations are better able to:

• Strengthen teamwork and shared understanding

• Adapt approaches in response to evidence and experience

• Build capability that lasts beyond individual projects
